Membership at York Street Club

The 1311 York Street Club was founded in 1948, when AA's Denver Group #1 arranged to purchase an old mansion in Denver's historic Capital Hill area, then set up a non-profit corporation to take ownership.

Today, the 1311 York Street Club remains unaffiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous, and carries on its mission of helping alcoholics and their families cope with this deadly disease.

The Rewards Of Membership

AA, Al-Anon, and Alateen meetings at York Street are open to all to attend. And, some people also opt to become members of the York Street Club.

Members have full access to the entire facilities at the club, can have postal mail (aka slow-mail) delivered to the office, and can also have a York Street Club email address (for example, billwilson@yorkstreetclub.com).

email@yorkstreetclub.com ?

Yes, members can have an email address at yorkstreetclub.com. Email address owners can use their home computer's email program (Outlook, Eudora, Thunderbird, etc) just like any other normal email address, and web access allows checking email while away from home. Or, you can just use web access for ultimate computer security.

Members can request an email address if they've kept up their membership dues for three months, and new members can pre-pay three months to get email right away. Email is suspended if a member falls more than two months past due.

Carrying The Message To Other Alcoholics

Perhaps the biggest benefit many members gain is making an important contribution to the club and its mission of aiding the alcoholic and their families & friends. This financial support of the club is one way to carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous to other alcoholics, and serves members in making a living amend.
